Dear Tommy,

Congratulations on being awarded a Queen's Member of the Order of Australia for "Service to the music and entertainment industries as a guitarist, and to the community as a supporter of Kids Under Cover." We and the whole Maton Team would like to congratulate you on this.

The Australian system of honours and awards was established in 1975: The Order of Australia is awarded to Australian citizens for service in a particular locality or field of activity or to a particular group for achievement or meritorious service.

We at Maton have had a long and proud association with you. This association dates back to when you first started playing your beloved Maton Mastersound as a young boy. We share the common love of making music, albeit from different angles. Clearly, you are referred to as and have continually been voted the greatest acoustic guitar player in the world. We here at Maton completely endorse such a conclusion.

We continually try to improve our product and test the boundaries of our expertise. Having our partnership in place provides a perfect "sounding board" to test new developments and you certainly play a massive part in our continued quest to keep getting better at what we do.

 

We feel that you and we at Maton share common aspirations and qualities. We are both passionate, continually endeavoring to improve and push the boundaries in our respective fields and we both try to bring music to the world. Most crucially, we are both the product of Australia and proud of that. It would appear that the prerequisites for such an Award would be consistent with these traits and we congratulate you wholeheartedly as a result.
