Tommy Emmanuel here with an exciting announcement! After 2 years of work, my new album, Accomplice One, is coming out in January 2018. It’s been such an honor to work with some of the greatest artists I know, and some of the most inspiring people in music, today. I wanted to record an album of duets that could showcase my love of many styles, the challenge of rearranging some classic songs, and share the fun of total improvisation with players who do it on a level that we all marvel at! I also wanted the chance to sing with some of my favorite voices too.
The artists who stepped forward to join me on this musical journey include Jason Isbell, Mark Knopfler, Rodney Crowell, Jerry Douglas, Amanda Shires, Ricky Skaggs, David Grisman, Bryan Sutton, Suzy Bogguss, Jorma Kaukonen, Jake Shimabukuro, J.D. Simo, Charlie Cushman, Clive Carroll, Pat Bergeson, Frank Vignola, Vinny Raniolo, and the great Jack Pearson. Together, we covered many musical songs and styles that are near and dear to my heart.
For me, recording is the same as playing live in front of an audience…I go for it as if it’s a show and my “accomplices” did the same. I sincerely hope you, the listener, will enjoy this album of real honest work brought to life by artists who reach for the stars and always bring something special to the music. Accomplice One was recorded and mixed by Brad Benge and mastered by Marc De Sisto. As the producer, I kept it real and kept it simple!
Thanks for listening, TE cgp

Tommy Emmanuel, CGP and celebrated mandolinist David “Dawg” Grisman have joined forces on a new collaborative album entitled, Pickin’ – available in stores and all digital retailers on Friday, November 3. This marks the first recorded collaboration between these two acoustic titans and arrives on Grisman’s own label, Acoustic Disc. Pickin’ reflects on both Tommy and David’s signature classical, Americana, folk, and roots stylings, but it also artfully merges jazz rhythms, jamming, and unpredictability in the mix.
Among many standouts, Tommy’s playing seamlessly entwines with Grisman’s mandolin during the first single “Tipsy Gypsy” as nimble picking converges on hypnotic hummable melodies. Meanwhile, “Cinderella’s Fella” swings from a brusque and galloping opening into a passionate and poignant pastiche of harmonious technicality. Check out the full track listing below and catch The CGP & Dawg Tour coming up this November.
Pre-orders for this record start at Tommy Emmanuel’s webstore on Fri. Oct. 13. The first 100 pre-orders will also get a free Tommy Emmanuel and David Grisman pick (as featured on the album cover). Order Here: https://store.tommyemmanuel.com/products/pickin-cd-2017

Very much looking forward to the joining the wonderful line up at Adelaide Guitar Festival 2018. The four day festival takes place 9th-12th August 2018 at the Festival Theatre – Adelaide, Australia. For more info head to www.adelaideguitarfestival.com.au/
The Adelaide Guitar Festival (AGF) (formerly the Adelaide International Guitar Festival) is a four-day biennial festival, curated by internationally renowned Australian guitarist, Slava Grigoryan. Unbound by genre and acclaimed for its outstanding quality, its concerts span rock, jazz, folk, classical, experimental, blues and roots music.
The inaugural festival in 2007 was modelled on the New York Guitar Festival and saw 100 musicians from around the world perform across 40 events, and attracted an audience of over 30,000 people.
In 2009, Adelaide Festival Centre CEO and Artistic Director, Douglas Gautier, together with AGF Artistic Director, Slava Grigoryan, announced the festival would become a biennial event.
The Festival is the most significant of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere. In 2014 it announced a new partnership with Spain’s Córdoba Guitar Festival. This exciting development has seen ongoing exchange of guitarists between the festivals, and in 2016 has extended to include the Seville Guitar Festival.
Building on the success of the Adelaide Guitar Festival Orchestra in 2014, AGF presented the inaugural Adelaide Guitar Festival Summer School in January 2016, inviting budding classical guitarists to participate in a week of intensive, immersive classical guitar playing and skills development with highly respected national and international guitar teachers.
The 6th Adelaide Guitar Festival builds on previous programs and extends into new territory, with Guitars in Bars and other places, a broad-ranging open access program of guitar music across Adelaide and regional South Australia, and Resonance, which takes the festival to hospitals and aged care facilities for those who cannot otherwise attend.
