My new duets album, Accomplice One, is OUT. I am so thrilled to share this record with you. It took me 2 years to record it, and I am very proud of it. There are so many great moments on this record that I truly cherish.
This video is one of my favorite songs from Accomplice One, that I recorded with one of the best artists out there – Mark Knopfler. When I approached Mark about playing on my album, he told me he would love to but it has to be one of his songs and none of that fast stuff. I immediately concurred, as I love all his compositions. We sat down with our acoustic guitars, and he sang me the song, “You Don’t Want To Get You One of Those”. It’s brilliantly written, and honestly and humbly performed. We recorded it like a performance, playing and singing in the same room. We purposely left it raw and didn’t try to polish it up. It was a great experience for me to be directed by such an accomplished artist as Mark.
Here is the track list for Accomplice One. I hope you enjoy it as much as I had recording it.
Deep River Blues with Jason Isbell
Song and Dance Man with Ricky Skaggs
Saturday Night Shuffle with Jorma Kaukonen & Pat Bergeson

I am excited to announce that Frank Vignola will be joining us at my first-ever Guitar Camp in Scotland on May 11-15, 2018. Richard Smith and my fellow CGP, John Knowles, will also be instructors in Scotland. In the US, I have a camp in Memphis, Tennessee on July 23-28 with instructors Pat Bergeson, Jack Pearson, Mike Seal, and special guest instructors Jerry Douglas and Steve Cropper. Last but not least, I am going back to Australia to host a Guitar Retreat outside of Melbourne on August 15-19 with instructors Richard Smith, Simon Hosford, and Michael Fix. I so much love teaching students my ways of practicing, writing, and performing. One of my greatest joys is sharing my guitar knowledge with students, seeing them digest it, and then watching them grow as a player.
This video is of the Django Reinhardt song, “Djangology.” Django is one of my favorite guitar players of all time. In the fall of 2016, I did a guitar camp in Havana, Cuba with Frank Vignola and Vinny Raniolo. We worked up an arrangement of this song. We took our guitar students to Abdala Studio to witness the recording as part of their education. You wouldn’t know it, but there were over 80 people sitting quietly in the room as we recorded this track live. That studio is where so many great Cuban recordings where made including the Buena Vista Social Club. This video is our love song to Cuba and the amazing experiences we had there. “Djangology” is on my new duets album, Accomplice One, out on Friday, January 19. You can pre-order CDs and vinyl of Accomplice One from my web-store. You can also pre-order this record digitally and get instant downloads of “(Sittin’ On) Dock of the Bay” with JD Simo, “Borderline” with Amanda Shires, “Looking Forward to the Past” with Rodney Crowell, and now “Djangology” with Frank and Vinny. Merry Christmas everyone! This song is something that Pat Bergeson and Annie Sellick brought to my attention. I love it, and I enjoyed playing it so much on the road. I think you can tell by watching us onstage together. I hope you enjoy it and Happy Holidays to all of you…LOVE TE, CGP
There are only a few shows left on this year’s Classic & Christmas Tour. We’ll be in Texas for the rest of the tour. I hope to see you in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas this coming week. Plus there is a new video of Pat Bergeson, John Knowles, and I playing “Jingle Bells” on last year’s Christmas Tour. Check it out here and Happy Holidays…Love TE, CGP.
I hope you enjoy the video for “Looking Forward to the Past” with Rodney Crowell. I’ve been a fan of Rodney’s since the 70s and have always loved his songs. When he asked me to play on his album, I suggested we trade, and he sing on my album. It was a deal! When I went to his studio to play on his track, he sang this song to me. I came back the next day and we recorded “Looking Forward To The Past”. Rodney works the same way I do – sitting down and playing as if it’s in front of an audience. We capture a performance, and don’t manufacture it. This video was a fun to make. I’ve always dreamed of being a gunslinger in the old west.
‘Looking Forward to the Past’ featuring Rodney Crowell is available for download now on all digital platforms!
iTunes will be running a Holiday Albums sale for three weeks featuring albums sale priced at $7.99. Get your digital copy of Christmas Memories or share one with a friend!!

A big thank you to Rolling Stone Country for premiering the song “Borderline” that I did with the great Amanda Shires. We recorded this video at the beautiful Franklin Theatre in Franklin, TN. The full video is now up on Youtube. You can see it here.
This song was an early hit for Madonna. It was brought to my attention by a brilliant artist from Sweden named Theresa Andersson. When Theresa and I toured through Europe and Scandinavia, we played this song in our show and it really got a great response from the audiences. Amanda Shires is known for her western swing and Americana style, but was adventurous enough to give this song a go. She nailed it!
“Borderline” is on my new album, Accomplice One, which is coming out Jan. 19, 2018. You can pre-order CD and vinyl from webstore. You can pre-order it digitally from Amazon, iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify HERE. Digital pre-orders will get an instant download of “(Sittin’ On) Dock of the Bay” with J.D. Simo and a download of “Borderline” with Amanda Shires.
I’ve been a lot of places, but there’s absolutely no other place in the world like Memphis, Tennessee! That’s where my US Guitar Camp is next summer July 23-27, 2018, and I hope you’re ready to rock n’ roll. Memphis is the cradle of rock n’ roll. We want to feel that while we’re there. In order to do so, we’ll be staying and workshopping at the world-renowned Peabody Hotel and using the whole city as our playground. Of course, we’ll be doing the lessons, the workshops, and nightly performances, but we’ve got some unbelievable outings planned. You have to be in Memphis for this experience. We’re going to visit Stax Studio, and we’ll also be having dinner at Graceland. At Stax, you’re in for a real special treat. Steve Cropper is coming in to spend a day with us and talk through the recordings he did there with Otis Redding. For the general curriculum, it’s going to be rock, R&B, country, and blues. I especially want to teach some of the early rock n’ roll from the fifties. I might have to do “Heartbreak Hotel”! In addition to Cropper, you’re going to get to spend time with Pat Bergeson, Jack Pearson, Mike Seal, and the one and only Jerry Douglas. The experience these guys are going to bring to the camp is something money can’t buy. I’ll never forget my first gig in Memphis. I played a concert on Beale Street. The energy was just amazing. How warm and nice everyone was really stuck with me. I hope you feel the same way. We’re going to enjoy some real rock n’ roll moments together in a place that’s about as rock n’ roll as it gets. I am sure this will be an experience that the campers and myself will never forget. Oftentimes, students come up to me and say how good the teachers were, how the positive vibe changed their lives, and that they can’t wait to get to work on the instrument. There’s no better feeling than that! I hope to see you all in Memphis.
Much Love…Tommy Emmanuel, CGP

I’d like to personally invite you to join me at the Tommy Emmanuel Guitar Camp in Scotland. This will be my very first camp in Europe, and I can’t wait. We’ll be staying at a castle called Atholl Palace in Pitlochry May 11-15, 2018. It’s the perfect space for us to enjoy the country and the guitar. You’re going to see a countryside and way of life that’s so beautiful and different. During that time of year, Scotland is just breathtaking. Every morning, I’ll host a two-hour Q&A where you can ask me anything. I answer questions, talk about my experiences, and give tips. We’re going to be a big happy family by the end of this thing. That’s one of the aspects that I really love about hosting these. The afternoons consist of workshops and lessons. I’m inviting some amazing players along to join us, namely Richard Smith and John Knowles, CGP. Each guest has his own style and story that he can’t wait to share. I learn something from these guys every time I’m around them, so I’m equally excited! Of course, we’ll be putting on our nightly concerts too. Musically, I wanted to do something different. At this one, we’re going to teach a little bluegrass as well as some of my songs. Bluegrass comes from Celtic music, so I want to dig into the roots of it in Scotland. It’s not just about me demonstrating songs (which of course you’ll get), but I’ll also share various techniques and exercises to improve your technique and smooth out arrangements. My goal is always to give attendees the tools to make themselves better players. Ultimately, it’s all about having an amazing time together. My goal is for everybody to take away something unforgettable. It’s that kind of experience. Everything comes from hanging together, learning from each other, and playing from a pure point-of-view. We’re here because we love to play, and that’s what it’s all about! I can’t wait to see you all in Scotland in May.
Much Love…Tommy Emmanuel, CGP

Tommy Emmanuel here with an exciting announcement! After 2 years of work, my new album, Accomplice One, is coming out in January 2018. It’s been such an honor to work with some of the greatest artists I know, and some of the most inspiring people in music, today. I wanted to record an album of duets that could showcase my love of many styles, the challenge of rearranging some classic songs, and share the fun of total improvisation with players who do it on a level that we all marvel at! I also wanted the chance to sing with some of my favorite voices too.
The artists who stepped forward to join me on this musical journey include Jason Isbell, Mark Knopfler, Rodney Crowell, Jerry Douglas, Amanda Shires, Ricky Skaggs, David Grisman, Bryan Sutton, Suzy Bogguss, Jorma Kaukonen, Jake Shimabukuro, J.D. Simo, Charlie Cushman, Clive Carroll, Pat Bergeson, Frank Vignola, Vinny Raniolo, and the great Jack Pearson. Together,we covered many musical songs and styles that are near and dear to my heart.
For me, recording is the same as playing live in front of an audience…I go for it as if it’s a show and my “accomplices” did the same. I sincerely hope you, the listener, will enjoy this album of real honest work brought to life by artists who reach for the stars and always bring something special to the music. Accomplice One was recorded and mixed by Brad Benge and mastered by Marc De Sisto. As the producer, I kept it real and kept it simple!
Thanks for listening, TE cgp
